It didn't feel like a real game that would have made it through production. It was no longer Fallout 3 or New Vegas, but Fallout 3.5 Ultra. I would base my load order around drastically altering the game. I installed all manner of HD textures, ENBs, etc. You see, I once longed for animation packs that turned 3/NV's awful gunplay into gun porn. I bought Fallout 3 because I liked Fallout 3, not a twisted, bizarro version of it. It was awesome, but after a while, it felt gimmicky and unnatural. When I played Skyrim, I did it to that game too. I was intent on turning Fallout 3, New Vegas and Oblivion into completely different games. HUD changes, new animations, new weapons, you name it. When I started installing mods, I installed everything that appealed to me. Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and on a lesser note, GTA IV and The Sims 3. Other advice in general is also welcome.I became interested in the mod community just over a decade ago. Tl dr Please look at my specs and suggest a benchmark number of mods I should run in order to have a long lasting playthrough that doesn't succumb to save game bloat. Like I said, it's not great, but it serves it's purpose. Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU 2.50GHz To give you an idea of how many mods I run, it is usually around 50, maybe 60. The point is that everything runs fine on a clean save but becomes progressively worse as time goes on. I do use loads of additional mods that are significantly smaller. ENBs are, of course, out of the question. I always use SkyRe, SMIM, usually Climates of Tamriel and some other script-heavy mods (i.e. Typically I don't run too many "massive" mods. Eventually, and usually seemingly out of nowhere, the game begins to stutter, freeze and lag every few seconds (especially in combat), and I have to start over.īasically, I'm here for advice about just how much I should mod my game. The size of my save files begins to rapidly increase. As I continue playing, however, the game becomes more unplayable. I can play the game with few stutters and little lag. When I create a new character and start a playthrough, it's generally quite stable even with all the mods. I always mod the game as much as I possibly can. My most played game is Skyrim, and I have a problem with it.

It's served it's purpose and more thus far with nearly 2,000 hours of gaming.
